Why is there a line for “added sugars” in your sugar and sweetener nutrition facts panels now? What is it? Have your products changed?

On May 20, 2016, the FDA announced the new Nutrition Facts labeling rules for packaged foods. This new label now includes a line for “Added Sugars” to be listed on the nutrition facts panel. “Added Sugars” is a subcomponent of total sugars and indicates how much sugar is naturally occurring or has been added to the product during processing or packaging. We have not changed our sugars or sweeteners in any way, so no “extra” sugars have been added to any of our delicious organic sugars, agave, honey, molasses, and sweeteners.
