Our Organic Honey is a cupboard essential. Have you ever thought about using it as a cocktail ingredient? Carol Kicinski of Simply Gluten Free has the perfect September cocktail for you and it’s gluten-free too!

Blue Bumble Bee Cocktail

  • Blueberry Honey (see below)
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup Wholesome Organic Honey
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 fresh thyme sprigs (about 3 inches long)
  • Cocktail:
  • 2 tbsp plus ½ tsp blueberry honey, use divided
  • 2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 2 oz gluten free vodka
  • 2 -3 oz cold prosecco
  • 2 -3 fresh thyme sprigs, for garnish

To make this cocktail, first make Blueberry Honey:

Combine all the ingredients in a deep saucepan, except the lemon juice, vodka, prosecco and thyme.  Bring to a boil. Let boil, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until the mixture has reduced in size by at least half and is the consistency of syrup. Mixture will thicken more as it cools. Strain the mixture into a bowl and let cool. When cooled, refrigerate until cold.

Then let the fun begin!

  1. Place ½ teaspoon of the blueberry honey in the bottom of the glass.
  2. In a cocktail shaker (or even a mason jar!) filled with ice, add the remaining 2 tablespoons blueberry honey, lemon juice, and vodka. Shake until cold.
  3. Pour into the glass and top off with a little prosecco. Garnish with thyme sprigs, if desired.

Going the extra 4 miles

At Wholesome, we go more than the extra mile to make sure our Organic Honey is uniquely—and always—mindfully delicious. If fact, we go an extra four miles to make sure every drop is free from harmful chemicals and tastes as the bees intended.

Why four miles? This is the furthest bees will venture from their hives. So we head to the remote, protected forests of Mexico and Brazil where their homes are surrounded by miles of organic, lush greenery and wild flowers for foraging. While bees enjoy this multi-floral diet, you’ll be delighted too as it leads to the purest, best tasting honey.

When you choose Wholesome, you bring home more than organic honey. You also help protect the lives and hives of bees, keeping them—and your own home—free from harmful things with every delicious drop.
