It’s Official – Wholesome Sweeteners Sells the World’s Best Honey

Celebrity Chef Rick Bayless Gets A Taste

Organic HoneySugar Land, TX (February 20, 2014) – Shoppers won’t need to travel far for a taste of the World’s Best Honey – Wholesome Sweeteners already sells it. Since 2008, Wholesome Sweeteners has sold the delicious Fair Trade,Organic Honey of honey producers, Prodapys, and at the 2013 World Beekeeping Awards by International Congress of Apiculture, this honey received the gold medal in its class.

Wholesome Sweeteners currently sells Organic Honey and Organic Raw Honey through Fair Trade agreements with beekeepers in Brazil and Mexico; Prodapys is one of them. In both locations, the hives are nestled deep within the jungles of these regions where bees feast on the organic native flora. Since the bees have their pick of what wildflowers are currently in season, the color and flavor of the honey deepen and evolve throughout the year.

Bee Hive  This spring, through a special invitation by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency APEX-Brasil, Wholesome Sweeteners will visit the gold-medal winning hives to enjoy the rare opportunity of witnessing an organic honey extraction and touring the honey mill. Only this time, they have invited James Beard multi-award-winning chef Rick Bayless.

Being fellow pioneers of Fair Trade, Wholesome Sweeteners asked Rick Bayless to join them on this trip to meet the farmers face-to-face. Chef Bayless’ efforts to support local farmers in Chicago and promote culinary education have made him a visionary leader in the industry. He founded the Frontera Farmer Foundation in 2003 to attract support for small midwestern farms.

Rick Bayless  “With Rick Bayless’ inspiring advocacy for farmers through the Frontera Farmer Foundation and his ongoing support of Organics and Fair Trade, it was an easy choice for us to invite him on this trip. Akin to Wholesome Sweeteners, he epitomizes the farm-to-table philosophy and understands that supporting farmers is the way to acquire the best-tasting food,” said Pauline McKee, Wholesome Sweeteners Co-Founder.

This trip complements the existing relationship between Wholesome Sweeteners and Chef Bayless. The company happily recognizes him as one of its Featured Chefs, a distinction given to partnering chefs who create recipes using WholesomeSweeteners’ products. Chef Bayless’ recipes can be found on the Wholesome Sweeteners Organic Sugar package and the website.

Wholesome Sweeteners Organic Honey and Organic Raw Honey are widely sold in grocery stores across the U.S. An easy-to-use store locator can be found on the Wholesome Sweeteners website where customers can do a zip code search to find the nearest grocery store.
