TWINKLING GINGERBREAD COOKIES

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1

In a medium bowl, mix the first six ingredients until smooth. Combine the eggs and egg whites in a separate bowl. Then slowly mix them into the creamed sugar and butter until well combined.

Step 2

Combine the flour, salt and baking powder and mix them into the batter until well combined.

Step 3
Wrap and chill the dough for several hours before rolling. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Step 4

Roll dough to desired size and thickness (approximately 1/4-inch thick) and cut to shape. Roll, shape and cut the dough while it is still cold.

Step 5

Allow dough to chill and rest before baking. Bake in preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes. Let cool completely before decorating.
