INGREDIENTS
1 6 oz can pineapple juice
1 20 oz can of crushed pineapple in 100% pineapple juice
½ cup hot sauce
¾ cup Wholesome Organic Fair Trade Dark Brown Sugar
¾ cup ketchup
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
½ tsp dijon mustard
¼ tsp smoked paprika
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ cup Wholesome Organic Fair Trade Raw & Unfiltered Honey to taste salt & pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
- Put 6 oz can of pineapple juice in a pot.
- Strain crushed pineapple and add juice and ½ crushed pineapple to pot with pineapple juice (reserve the other ½ of the pineapple for later) to create pineapple syrup.
- Reduce pineapple juice over medium heat for about 20-25 minutes until thick and syrupy.
- While pineapple is reducing, bring to a boil in a separate pan, Dark Brown Sugar, ketchup worcestershire, dijon, smoked paprika and garlic powder.
- Once it has come to a boil, let simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring often.
- Combine with the pineapple syrup.
- Add the hot sauce.
- Add reserved crushed pineapple and simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes.
- When the sauce has thickened remove from heat and let come to room temp before adding in the honey.
